Adult Basketball League Game Rules

  1. The league  follows NCAA rules 

  2. All Players MUST wear the team jersey - Technical foul is assessed  for non-compliance (1 Shot)

  3. 2 Twenty (20) minute half 

  4. Clock stops on everything for the last 2 minutes of each half

  5. Clock stops on timeouts

  6. Clock stops if the ball rolls onto another court

  7. Clock stops on all official discussions

  8. Timeouts 

    A Division: 3 Full Timeouts per game

    B Division: 3 Full and 2 30sec Timeouts per game

     

  9. For each overtime teams will receive 1 additional time out

  10. Personal Fouls A and B League 6 foul limit

  11. A Division Player fouls out after receiving his 6th foul

  12. B Division Player fouls out after receiving his 5th foul

  13. Player technical counts as 1 person foul

  14. Player 2nd technical player must remove himself from the bench

  15. Forfeits time 10 minutes after game time

Fall Pre Season Team Meeting:
  • Team meeting must be attended by team manager or person responsible for all team matters. This is a MANDATORY meeting per Hoop Magic that must be attended by a representative of the team.
  • Fall League Team Meeting is scheduled for: Monday, October 19, 2009 @ 8:00pm at Hoop Magic.

Team and Roster Rules:

  • 10 player roster (Only ten jerseys will be provided with registration)
  • Players MUST wear their team jersey to play!
  • Additional jerseys can be purchased 
  • Final Rosters are due after the second (2nd) game  - Rosters will used to fill out game book before the start of each game.
  • Players cannot switch teams after the final roster is submitted NO EXCEPTION. 
  • If team  is caught playing an eligible player, the team  will be assessed at TECHNICAL FOUL AND THE PLAYER MUST BE REMOVED HIMSELF FROM THE FLOOR.
  • Teams cannot add players after the second game - Rosters are frozen - NO EXCEPTION.
  • Every player must wear the same team jersey during the game NO EXCEPTION.
  • Games can start with four (4) players, if at half time the team with four player are down by more than 20 points the game will  be stopped otherwise the game will continue.
  • Top 16 teams advance to post season playoffs
  • League Participation fee ($750.00) must be paid before a team can participate. All payments must be paid at the front desk.

A and B League: 

  • Timeouts: Three (3) Full Time Outs per game
  • Six (6) Individual Fouls per Game
  • Technical Fouls counts as a personal foul
  • If a players is asked to leave the beach as a result of an ejection and the player refuses to leave after 15sec - The team is assessed a technical foul after each 15 sec.
  • If the player remains on the bench after the second 15 seconds warning the opposing team is awarded the WIN and the game is over.
  • Foul Shots - Off the release to enter the lane

Policy Enforcement - Abusive Conduct and Language

GENTLEMEN - Please be aware that mothers, fathers, grandparents, small children and kids that visiting Hoop Magic while  league games are being played. If a player conducts himself in a manner that is not respectful of the facility he will be asked to leave and possibly suspended for the next game. 

LOUD, ABUSIVE, PROFANE and/or DEROGATORY LANGUAGE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED ANY MORE! 

IF A PLAYER OR TEAM CANNOT CONDUCT THEMSELVES IN A RESPECTFUL MANNER THEY WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE TO FACILITY AND DEPENDING ON THE SEVERITY MAY GET SUSPENDED FROM THE LEAGUE.

THIS IS NOT AN OPTION!

All Teams- If a player receives two technical fouls he is automatically ejected from the game and must leave the team bench area. If the player does not leave after a specified time by the officials a technical foul will be assessed!

If the player receives two game ejections he must sit out one regular season game.  

Also, there have been allot of close games in both divisions. Teams must manage the clock and not depend on the officials to make a game saving or winning call in their favor.

Team Uniforms

 

If your team has elected to wear their own uniforms, then all players must wear the same jersey (Color) during the game. The uniform jersey must be reversible (light/dark). This rule will be enforced!

No T-Shirt w/ Written Number

 

If a player does not have a jersey he will not be allowed to play in the game, NO EXCEPTIONS.

 Team Entry Fee

$750.00 Men's team entry fee include 10 jerseys. The team captain or coach is responsible for team administrative information, coordinating payment and adherence of team members to leagues rules and policies, must register each team.

Personal Checks are not accepted after the first game unless secured with a credit or debit card

$500.00 Women's team entry fee include 12 jerseys.

Forfeit Rule

 

If a team does not show up for their scheduled game, the opposing team will win by default. There is a ten minute (10) time limit to declare a forfeit.  It's the responsibility of the team to play the schedule that is posted on the WEBSITE!

 

Games will not be rescheduled or postpone because a team did not review the WEBSITE schedule.
